Terms of Use

  • Definitions
    • Miku Inc.: 合同会社ミク（Gōdō Gaisha Miku）
    • Applicant: An individual applying for services.
    • Student: A registered recipient of services.
    • Teacher: Contracted instructor.
    • Service Purpose: Online real-time language learning courses.|
    • Miku Inc. ID: User ID and password.
    • Personal Information: Member’s identifying information.
    • Lesson Fees: Tuition for online Japanese lessons. Fees vary by level, with all levels having four 90-minute lessons per month.
  • Application of the Terms
    These terms apply to all applications and service uses.
  • Service Contents
    Provides online language lessons and related information.
  • Required Equipment and Network
    Students need to perpare a computer, browser, software, headset, webcam, and internet connection. Miku Inc. is not responsible for any network connection and hardware issues.
  • Confidentiality
    Student must keep Miku Inc.’s management and operational information confidential during and after the contract period.
  • Application Procedure
    Applications are processed online. Applicants under age 18 require a guardian’s application.
  • Contract Formation
    The contract starts upon receipt of the first payment. Miku Inc. can reject applications for any various reasons.
  • Payment
    Handling fees are the responsibility of the applicant/student.
  • Service Commencement Notification
    New students will be notified by email or message upon successful registration.
  • Lesson Fees Validity
    Lesson fees are valid from the completion of the application and expire as per the paid package, 30 days upon application completion.
  • Contact
    Students agree to be contacted by Miku Inc. or teachers via email or message.
  • Change of Information
    Students must promptly notify Miku Inc. of any changes to their registration information.
  • Student Cancellations or Interruptions
    Students will not receive refunds or make-up lessons for cancellations or interruptions due to personal reasons.
  • Miku Inc. Cancellations
    Miku Inc. or teachers will refund the equivalent lesson fees for canceled lessons.
  • Miku Inc. Interruptions
    Interruptions caused by Miku Inc. or teachers will result in rescheduling to the same time the following week, or another mutually agreed-upon time.
  • Copyright and Intellectual Property
    • All materials are copyrighted. Unauthorized use, copying, or distribution is prohibited.
    • Students are prohibited from using other students’ or teachers’ content without the Miku Inc. or teachers’ explicit permission.
    • Miku Inc. will assist in resolving any copyright disputes but assumes no legal responsibility.
  • Miku Inc. ID Management
    Students are responsible for managing their IDs and must report any loss or misuse.
  • Service Changes
    Miku Inc. can change, add, or suspend services without notice and is not liable for any related losses.
  • Privacy Policy
    Personal information is protected and used for service improvement, only shared with consent or under legal obligation.
  • Compensation for Damages
    Miku Inc. is not liable for students’ language ability, study conformity, or rights security.
  • Indemnity
    Miku Inc. is not responsible for various losses or damages, including those from network issues or natural disasters.
  • Restrictions
    Certain behaviors are prohibited, such as transferring ID rights, illegal access, and harmful actions against Miku Inc.
  • Jurisdiction
    Any disputes are governed by the Osaka District Court.
  • Governing Law
    These terms are governed by Japanese law.
  • Dispute Resolution
    Disputes should be resolved through discussion first.
  • Language
    The original terms are written in Japanese, and translations should adhere to the original text.
  • Effectiveness of Terms
    If any part of the terms is invalid, the remaining terms remain effective.
  • A Rider
    These Terms are effective as from January 1st, 2023.
